If you're thinking of including a trip to Cabinet Rooms in your plans for this festive season, we would always recommend booking in advance. There are different options available to you depending on the size of your group and how long you would like to spend here.
You can now make table bookings online for up to ten people. We offer 90 minute slots, enough time for one or two drinks, which is perfect for pre- or post-dinner drinks. If you'd like a table for longer please contact us directly to check availability and discuss timings.
For groups of 5 or 6, chances are you'll be given private use of our Map Room. It's an intimate space so perfect for putting the world to rights and hatching plans.
Groups of 7 or more will be given private use of our Foreign Office, which is dark and atmospheric with a bit more space to indulge in a cocktail or two.
We can accommodate larger groups of up to 25 people in our downstairs rooms, which you'll have use of from 7pm to 11pm. There is no hire charge but we do ask for a minimum spend of £500 (Sunday to Thursday) and £600 (Friday and Saturday). We'll take a pre-order for food and drink in advance so it's ready for your arrival on the night. All food and drink purchases you and your party make will contribute to your minimum spend.

Confirming Your Booking
Your booking is not confirmed until we have either taken your card details as security for groups of up to 6 or taken a deposit payment for groups of 7 or more. If you do not provide your card details at the time of booking you will be sent an email asking you to enter card details within 24 hours. If after this time you have not provided your details, your booking will auto-cancel. After this point, it may not be possible to re-book at your preferred date and time so please make sure your complete your booking promptly.
Unless you are booking the whole of downstairs for the evening, your booking is for 90 minutes. At peak times, it is likely that your table will be booked by someone else at this point. For this reason, we respectfully ask for your table back no later than 90 minutes after your booking starts (which is the time you booked for). This also means that we may be unable to seat you immediately if you arrive early for your booking. We try to make the process as seamless as possible and would be grateful for your help by keeping an eye on the time and making sure you allow yourselves plenty of time to finish your drinks before the end of your booking.
If you know you need your table for slightly longer than 90 minutes please contact us directly in the café to check availability and extend your booking if possible. We will always try to accommodate where possible. Sequential bookings made online by the same group in order to extend a visit are not permitted. Any additional bookings will be cancelled automatically by us.
If you are booking for up to six people, there is no deposit but we do store card details in case of no-shows. If you are unable to make your booking, just cancel online at least 24 hours in advance, or by emailing email@example.com or calling 01962 866480 at least one hour in advance of your booking. If you cancel after this time or do not cancel at all, your card will be charged for £10 per person.
For groups of seven people or more, we need to take an upfront deposit of £10 per person in order to confirm your 90-minute booking. Your deposit is fully refundable up to 24 hours prior to your booking. We are unable to redeem deposits for members of your party who do not show for your booking so if you do need to adjust the size of your group, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
If you have booked for the whole evening your deposit will be fully refundable up to one month prior to your party. If you cancel less than a month but before two weeks prior to your event, we will retain 50% of your deposit. Your deposit is non-refundable less than two weeks prior to your event.
