      CAFE BAR SUPERVISOR

      We're looking for an experienced hospitality professional to help us run the café-bar and events.

      If you’ve got experience of working in a busy bar, preferably in a supervisory role, we want to hear from you!

      We’ve got exciting plans to grow our business and are looking for a positive person who’s passionate about great drinks and customer service to join our expanding team.

      You’ll be a keyholder and responsible for running some shifts so it’s important we find someone who’s both confident and reliable. We’ll provide product training but we’ll expect you to deliver first class customer service from day one.

      You’ll support management with menu development so it’s vital you have a genuine love of food and drink and that you get excited about flavour making.

      As a senior member of the team, you’ll be involved in our large events too. We’re the hub for Winchester Cocktail Week and also organise the city’s annual gin festival at the Great Hall.

      You’ll be a people person too and will be able to train and inspire the team.

      It’s a busy but fun environment to work in and we’re blessed with having discerning, friendly customers. If you love the buzz of working in a lively bar where people care about what goes into their drinks then this will be right up your street.

      Main responsibilities include:

      Opening and closing the café
      Weekly stock checks and ordering
      Ensuring the bar is fully stocked and prepped
      Updating cocktail spec sheets and staff training
      Supervising shifts and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and customer service
      Supervising regular cleaning tasks and ensuring highest levels of hygiene at all times
      Waste reduction and stock control  

      PAY & BENEFITS
      Starting wage £10 per hour
      16-32 hours/week including weekend evenings

      BAR MANAGER

      We're looking for a seasoned bar manager with a flair for flavour-making

      Our Bar Manager will be responsible for a slick day-to-day operation and that drinks are always made on spec to a consistently high standard and delivered in a timely manner.

      Their passion for quality spirits and flavour-making will fuel their management of our menu planning. They’ll be a creative thinker with a discerning palate and will not only play a key role in developing new drinks but also how they are sold and marketed.

      This is a great opportunity for an experienced drinks professional looking for a role in which they can get creative and stamp their mark on an award-winning, independent business.

      We're looking for someone who is self-motivatedresilient and will be committed to developing our business and team throughout a period of exciting change. In return, they'll be offered opportunities for formal, professional training and a competitive salary and benefits package.

      This is a full-time role but part-time will be considered for the right candidate.

      MAIN TASKS

      Product Development

      To plan and deliver seasonal cocktails menus
      To investigate new products on the market
      To meet with drinks reps and attend product training sessions off-site
      To assist the General Manager in creating new drinks products for sale in-store and online
      To work with the Chef in developing and producing drinks garnishes

      Revenue Generation

      To be fully up-to-date with Cabinet Rooms events and actively promote them to customers
      To act as an ambassador for the business and take advantage of opportunities to promote it and its events
      To carry out periodical price comparisons to ensure that services are competitive and good value for money

      Health and Safety

      To ensure compliance with company policies and procedures relating to food hygiene
      To follow health & safety procedures and promote them within the team

      Customer Service

      To maintain high levels of customer service at all times, in line with policies and procedures

      People Management

      To line manage the bar and front of house team on a day-to-day basis, including management of absence reporting and holiday requests
      To manage the front of house team during service ensuring consistency in service
      To manage the cleaning of equipment and workspaces in accordance with the checklists and weekly cleaning schedule

      Operations and Event Planning

      Open and close the café as required
      Be an official key holder, registered with the Company’s security firm, and react to call-outs as required
      To have an infallible working knowledge of the bar including product knowledge
      To assist the General Manager in the management of bookings and the operation of the cafe-bar programme of events e.g. Book Group and Secret Underground Film Society
      To operate private events, workshops and masterclasses as required either at the Café or off-site
      To support the set up and break-down of events
      To work at public events off-site as required
      Undertake ad hoc tasks to support the Managing Director with the planning and delivery of events and festivals as required

      PAY & BENEFITS
      Starting wage £25,000 p.a.
      40 hours/week including weekend evenings
