Since Government guidelines were issued at the start of July, we have worked hard to ensure we can operate a COVID secure café. Our aim is to maintain our unique Cabinet Rooms style and atmosphere while doing everything we can to keep you and our staff safe. We are pleased to let you know that we have been certified ‘Good to Go’ by Visit England.
Click and Collect
We are excited to be able to offer a Click and Collect service. You can place your order and pay online before coming to collect it from the café in a specified time slot. https://goodeats.io/cabinetroomswinch
Test and Trace
When you arrive at the café, please scan our unique QR code using the official NHS COVID-19 app. If you don’t already have the app, you can download via the Apple App Store or Google Play. You’ll find the links here: https://covid19.nhs.uk/
If you are unable to use the app to check in, we can take your details from you manually. If you have reserved a table using ResDiary, you are not required to check in with the app. We will only share your details with the NHS Test and Trace team if asked to do so.
Sadly, we are not permitted to serve anyone who does not check in with the app or provide their details to us directly.
Bookings
We are finding that more and more people are choosing to book a table in advance of their visit so there is increasingly limited availability for people ‘trying their luck’ on the day.
There are 4 tables available upstairs, which means we have a capacity limit of 12 people with social distancing of at least 1m in the main café area.
On busy evenings, we open up our Foreign Office downstairs, which has a capacity limit of 8 people.
Booking slots are for 1 hour in the daytime and 1.5 hours in the evening and they are staggered to avoid bottle necks. We do not take deposits for reservations but you will be asked to enter card details in case we need to charge a no-show fee. The no-show fee is £8.50 per person in your party.
Please do not arrange to meet up with more than five other people unless you are all in the same household or support bubble.

Cleaning
We have always been proud of our cleanliness here but we are ramping up our activity nevertheless. Staff have been trained on increasing the frequency of cleaning and hand washing. Please help us by sanitising your hands on arrival and before and after using the WC.
At the risk of sounding draconian, we must inform you that failure to observe safety measures will result in refusal of service. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to contact us in advance.
PPE
Please ensure you are already wearing your face mask when you arrive at the café. Face masks must be worn at all times when you are not seated at your table eating and drinking.
Respecting Each Other
Our team are doing their best to create a safe and relaxing environment for everyone. They have been instructed not to engage with aggressive or disruptive behaviour and to call for assistance from the police in the first instance. We’d all like things to go back to the way they were and we believe that together, with each other’s support, we can get through this and look forward to happier times ahead!
